I love to find vintage hardware and handles to use them on my bags. Have you tried vintage hardware or handles before? Give them a try. They make a project unique and add something different to any project. I prefer hardware or bag handles from the 1950's or 1960's. Using handles that are plastic, bamboo or wooden are fun.
So where do you get vintage hardware? I buy mine at yard sales, estate sales, eBay and etsy. I will buy a bag that is no longer useful and cut away the hardware or handles or I find the handles by themselves and consider how I will use them.
Designing a bag around a handle is fun as well and you can get creative with it. Think of your grandma's handbag that has been modernized with a fun twist. Use new fabrics or vintage ones with a modern style to update the look.
